The complex shape of these Muqarnas is made of thin three dimensional CNC milled curved marble glued on a composite fiberglass construction. The weight reduction is immense.
Muqarnas are unique to Islamic architecture. The form of ornamented vaulting has no structural function but create a smooth transitional zone in a variety of architectural settings.
