PCT have successfully completed the International Railway Industry Standard (IRIS) audit with a very high score.
This outstanding achievement makes PCT the only company within the UAE and one of only two composite manufacturing companies in the Middle East to be certified to this highly regarded international rail industry quality standard.
IRIS is based on the internationally recognized quality standard ISO 9001, specific to the railway industry, designed for the evaluation of management systems. The underlying aim of IRIS is to improve the quality and reliability of rolling stock produced, by improving the whole supply chain. An initiative led by the Union of the European Railway Industries (UNIFE) it is supported by four of the largest system manufacturers (Bombardier, Siemens, Alstom and AnsaldoBreda).
The quality team including Matthew Gorman, Alberto Moro, Uday Prakash, Natalia Stanganelli, Members of the Rail Division and the supporting departments and their whole teams that were involved in this certification audit, worked very hard to ensure positive results.
“Not only did we achieve an impressively high score but additionally we were not issued any major or minor findings. Considering the level of detail the auditor went into, over the full five and a half days this is a huge validation of the effort put in by all involved”. - Matthew Gorman
The achievement of this standard is significant for the long term strategic growth of the Rail Division and complements the successful Alstom qualification audits both of which will enable the division to win projects from a wider range of customers.
